Organisation of the Waikato Muslim Association (WOWMA) held a Winter Escape for 50 adult Muslimah in early-July at Mount Ruapehu. The adventure included a trip to the mountain for skiing, snowboarding, and sledding. Some also went on walks and hikes. Most visited the Tokaano hot pools and some. who stayed for the fourth day, went horse-riding. A talk on wellbeing and the importance of self-care from an Islamic perspective was zoomed in from overseas. Overall, this weekend offered all a chance to get away, to try new things, to build new and stronger relationships with other sisters, and importantly, to connect with Allah (SWT). It was a beautiful weekend.
