“Seeking knowledge is mandatory for every Muslim.”

The Islamic Women’s Council of New Zealand aims to uplift and empower Muslim women  and their families while simultaneously building, upskilling and uniting the Muslim sisterhood within Aotearoa.

IWCNZ, established 31 years ago, continues to work hard to ensure that the national issues concerning the women and youth in our community are heard and addressed, while offering opportunities to connect and learn.

Donations go to support a range of activities, events and ongoing concerns:

Activities

  • Talks, Youth Camps, Weekend Getaways, Educational Programmes, Islamic Quizzes, Qur’an Reading Competitions,
  • Sporting activities and outdoor activities for Muslim women of all age groups
  • Conferences and symposiums at a national level, including the IWCNZ annual conference.

Wellbeing

  • To promote the holistic wellness of Aotearoa New Zealand Muslimah that incorporates health, spirituality, physical, occupational, environmental, emotional, intellectual, cultural, and social well-being.
  • To represent Muslim women from all ethnic, cultural and age diversity groups at a local and national level.
