IWCNZ hosted a weekend retreat for youth over 18 in Hunua. Islamic talks and activities assisted in creating connections, and offering reflections on the deen and their interactions with it. A brief talk around goals opened the weekend, with the youth being reminded the weekend together with other Muslimah was a gift. Another activity related to Perceptions & Perspectives, this included each youth painting half a picture, without seeing the other half or their partner’s work. At the end, the youth brainstormed what caused differences and then put perceptions and perspectives in an Islamic context. A consultation and future planning concluded the weekend.
