Employment Workshops

IWCNZ hosted full-day bespoke employment workshops in three of main cities of New Zealand — Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. Specifically designed for Muslimah looking to enter the job market or to boost their current career path, the event included sessions on networking, creating quality curriculum vitae and cover letters that stand out, how to read job adverts and understand what employers are looking for prior to applying, and how to ace the interview were all included in the morning session. Attendees were given the opportunity to discuss further their own aspirations. A delicious midday lunch using local Muslim caterers was included. The afternoon session focused on “Nailing the look” an covered professional styles for interviewing as a Muslim woman, fashion options for the workplace and identifying quality fashion options for your own style, personality and comfort but that still meet the mark and the expectations of employers in New Zealand.
