Resources to secondary schools

The Islamic Women’s Council of New Zealand held a resource launch for the four educational resources to complete the series. The book launch was held in Wellington and Alhamduliah a very successful event over all. IWCNZ has advocated for diverse resources in our schools so that our children; and this year worked in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, IWCNZ to put out a series of 5 children’s books. The first was Dr. Maysoon’s story Aya and the Butterfly, which IWCNZ launched in March. The four remaining books were launched this December in Wellington. Known as Ā Mātou Kōrero | Our Stories , the series of illustrated storybooks was designed to support, reflect, and celebrate the Kiwi Muslim community in Aotearoa New Zealand. They are also a way for non-Muslim Kiwis to about our community. The books, which are accompanied by an educational support resource for teachers and an audio of the books being each being read are available here: https://nzcurriculum.tki.org.nz/Principles/Cultural-diversity-principle/A-matou-korero-Ourstories
